Our Hideaway guests have fed back to us on the most romantic walks nearby. Here are just a few suggestions -
Picnic on Balluderon Hill - 1 mile north of the Hideaway one to two hours walking time. Spectacular views stretching for over a hundred miles can be enjoyed on a clear day from Balluderon Hill behind The Hideaway. To the north view the fertile Strathmore valley, Angus glens; to the east you can see out to the North Sea; to the south the City of Dundee, the Kingdom of Fife in the background; to the west look up the River Tay towards Perth.
Lunan Bay - A large inlet of the North Sea on the coast of Angus, Lunan Bay lies to the south of Montrose between Boddin Point and the Lang Craig. Stunning cliff tops and miles of golden sand, very few people around!
Tentsmuir - Located just over the Tay Bridge in Fife, Tentsmuir run's from Leuchars north until the Tay estuary and is a lovely east coast beach in a nature reserve with miles of pine forest running along behind the beach.
The Hermitage at Dunkeld - a beautiful woodland walk next to the River Linn leads though spectacularly large Douglas firs to the amazing folly, Ossian's Hall overlooking the Black Linn waterfall. Climb nearby Birnam Hill, with some of the best views in Scotland (Caroline's favourite).

At a height of over 500 feet above sea level, Dundee Law provides a popular, easily accessed vantage point placed high above the centre of Dundee. Car access to the summit.
